Hallway Conversations

One of the things I love are the short little hallway conversations where students connect. Normally I'm not a part of them but seem to catch just the tail end. And that's the way I like it.

They are great because they really give little clues as to what's going on in the new students mind and they are often very funny from my perspective.

So last night I ran into one between two new students. One of the students has twenty some years in the martial arts but just started Shou' Shu' a few weeks ago. The other is completely new to martial arts entirely.

Not sure what section of the paper it was in since I read it online.

Somebody save me a copy would ya.

Bullying

Recently I was asked by a reporter to write about my experience with teaching kids with bullying problems. I thought I'd also post what I wrote to her here in case it can help someone.

How to Remove a Pit Bull

Well they say it's good to learn something new every day. The new thing I learned today was how to unclench the jaws of an attacking pit pull. I wish I could of seen the look of awe and amazement at the moment I saw the technique demonstrated.

While it's not a Shou' Shu' technique I do think it is a bit of advice that could come in handy when trying to defend a life.

How a Shifu Takes down a Christmas Tree

Every year Shifu Liz insists that I trek up to Glencoe and bring down a 25' Christmas tree. We drag it down out of the mountains, get a crew of guys, and risking life and limb we hoist it up. then the decorating comes. It's all a pretty dangerous event. But fun.

But this year we made a deal. If I put it up, she takes it down. So here it is. The video of Shifu Liz taking down the Christmas tree her way.

Enjoy!

Sorry about shoushu.org

Yes i know, the private shou shu site www.shoushu.org has been down. Rest assured we are working very hard to get it back up and running so we can deliver all the great benefits you love inside the site.

It's been down for over a week and I'm getting a lot of complaints. Unfortunately with the site is my email system to tell everyone what's up. So the best I can do is post here to let everyone know.
